Rent-To-Own (RTO) Policy Update for Custom Options

At Premier Portable Buildings, our focus is backyard storage, and we take pride in being America’s #1 provider for your backyard. To better serve all customer needs, we proudly offer Rent-To-Own (RTO) purchasing options, allowing more families the opportunity to own a Premier building.

As customers continue to personalize their buildings beyond standard storage applications, it is necessary to clarify how certain customized options will be handled under the RTO program.

POLICY UPDATE

Beginning May 1, 2026, the following custom or specialty options will NOT qualify to be included in the Rent-To-Own amount through Premier Portable Buildings.

Customers may still add these options to an RTO building purchase; however, these items must be paid in full upfront and included in the “Buy Down” section of the RTO contract.

OPTIONS REQUIRING UPFRONT PAYMENT

The following items are excluded from RTO and must be collected upfront:

  • Inside walls
    • Studded walls
    • Covered/finished walls
  • Insulation packages
  • Electrical options beyond Premier’s standard electrical package
  • Cutouts and custom modifications
  • Shop options not included in the current Premier Portable Buildings brochure

REFUND POLICY FOR CUSTOM OPTIONS

Due to the customized and personalized nature of these upgrades, payments collected for the above options will be considered non-refundable after 48 hours from the time the order is finalized.

Once production planning and material allocation begin, these customized options cannot be reversed or repurposed. For this reason:

  • Customers may request changes or cancellations within the first 48 hours after purchase.
  • After 48 hours, all upfront payments collected for these custom options become non-refundable.

Dealers and sales representatives are responsible for clearly communicating this policy to customers prior to contract completion.

SALES & DEALER GUIDELINES

Please ensure the following procedures are followed on all applicable sales:

  1. Review all selected options carefully with the customer prior to contract completion.
  2. Identify any non-qualifying options listed above.
  3. Calculate the total amount of those options and include them in the “Buy Down” portion of the RTO agreement.
  4. Collect payment for these items before submitting the contract.
  5. Clearly communicate to customers that these specialty options are considered personalized upgrades and therefore are not eligible for financing through the RTO program.
  6. Inform customers of the 48-hour refund limitation on all applicable custom options.

PURPOSE OF THIS POLICY

This update allows Premier Portable Buildings to continue offering affordable Rent-To-Own solutions while responsibly managing highly customized building upgrades that significantly personalize the structure beyond standard inventory offerings.

We appreciate your cooperation and continued commitment to serving our customers with professionalism and transparency.

REPO TRAILERS WITHOUT TN PLATES

Please ensure that we are notifying Britney Choate through email ,with me copied, whenever a repo or returned trailer is brought back  to the lot without plates.

In these situations, there is a possibility the trailer may already be titled in another state (such as Virginia or North Carolina). If a trailer is already titled and then resold, it can take several months to have the title transferred back into the rental company’s name and reissued to the new customer.

Before proceeding with a sale under these circumstances, please confirm with Britney Choate that the trailer is cleared for resale.

  • If the trailer is plated in Tennessee, it is fine to sell.
  • If Britney confirms the trailer is titled in another state (Virginia, North Carolina, etc.), we must hold off on selling until the title has been transferred back into our name.

Thanks, Dylan
